19 VEHICLES WERE BURNT IN NAIA PARKING SPACE

Fire engulfed vehicles in the parking area of the NAIA Terminal 3 parking extension Monday afternoon, one of the reasons being looked at is a grass fire due to the intense heat and strong wind. A total of 19 vehicles were included in the fire in the open space of the parking extension.

The leadership of the Manila International Airport Authority said that they have talked to the private company that rents the land that was turned into a parking area and promised to cover all the costs of the owners of the burned vehicles.
Motorists saw the burning fire and black smoke at NAIA terminal 3, according to the Bureau of Fire Protection they are looking at it as a grass fire that ignited on the dry grass and crawled towards the parking area. There were people who first responded with a fire extinguisher, but due to the wind speed with which the fire spread, so the fire grew.
According to the General Manager of MIAA Eric Ines, the contract of the private company started in 2019 for fifteen years and the original plan here was not a parking lot but was supposed to build a building, but since the project has not progressed yet it was made into a parking space.
In the conversation between Ines and the private company, the private company will be responsible for the damages in the incident and the MIAA will oblige to write the promise on paper so that the claimants have an obligation to pay the damages.
The MIAA reminds those going to the NAIA in this extremely hot weather, not to leave flammable items such as rubbing alcohol and flammable items. Ines has also ordered to remove the dry leaves to avoid any fire.
According to the PSIA representative, they will talk to the owner of the vehicle that caught fire and find out how much the company will be responsible for if the entire or only part of the vehicle was consumed by the fire.
