16-WHEELER TRUCK CRASHES INTO 3 MOTORCYCLES ALONG ORTIGAS AVE., 4 KILLED

A 16-wheeler truck and several other vehicles got involved in a collision at the corner of Ortigas Avenue and Lanuza Avenue in Pasig City on early Sunday morning, the Pasig Police said.
In the CCTV camera footage, the truck loaded with sacks of rice can be seen quickly turned right and overturned hitting three motorcycles. The motorcycles were destroyed as well as the rider's helmets.
The truck crashed into three motorcycles leaving four persons killed including a four-year old boy, and his parents riding the motorcycle. The other fatality was a driver of another motorcycle.
Two other victims sustained fractured arms and ribs and are still undergoing medical treatment. Another victim, also a motorcycle rider, was discharged from the hospital according to the Pasig Police.
The truck was loaded with thousands of sacks of rice, many of which spilled on the road. Police and personnel of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority help remove rice. The road accident caused heavy traffic in the area.
The truck driver explained to the authorities that the vehicle lost its brakes. The driver will face charges of reckless imprudence resulting in multiple homicides, multiple serious injuries, and multiple damage to property.
