According to the Catholic Peace Conference of the Philippines (CPCP), Abad’s devotion to the Eucharist was intense during her lifetime, giving rosaries, bibles and other religious equipment and served as an inspiration to the entire province.
The girl died at the age of 13 on August 19 due to cardiac disease. The process for its beatification and canonization will begin in April 7 or Divine Mercy Sunday at St. Williams Cathedral in Laoag.
Laoag Bishop Renato Mayugba will start the diocese process and start an inquiry. Mayugba first submitted a detailed biography of the child to the Vatican dicastery and requested permission to begin the investigation.
Abad could possibly be one of the youngest Saints in history by chance.
