Before the year ends, the Philippines may still face one or two more storms which is likely to hit in December according to the state-run weather agency. While, two weather systems will cause rains over some areas in the country.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said this also means that no tropical cyclone or low pressure area is expected until the end of November.
“If a tropical cyclone would enter, say on the first week of December, there is a chance that it will be stronger but not when it enters later in December. This is because there is already the influence of the northeast monsoon ("amihan"), so we could no longer expect a super typhoon during that period based on historical tracks and record," PAGASA stated.
Meanwhile, the easterlies or winds coming from the east and passing through the Pacific Ocean that carry humid and warm weather - would prevail in most parts of the archipelago, including Metro Manila.
"We could expect generally-fair weather conditions all throughout the day except for isolated rain showers or thunderstorms during late afternoon or at night," the agency forecasted.
Adding that the Amihan will be bringing cloudy skies with light rains over Batanes and Babuyan Islands. The rest of Luzon will experience hot weather at Friday noon, and possibly rain and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening.
Rains are possible in eastern Visayas and eastern Mindanao due to the easterlies. Southern Leyte, Caraga, and Davao region may experience cloudy weather with scattered rain showers, thunder, and lightning.
“For the remaining portions of Visayas, Mindanao, and Palawan, fair weather conditions are possible. Warm weather by noon and possibly sudden or brief rainfall due to thunderstorms by afternoon and evening.”
