ABS-CBN Films and GMA Pictures’ romantic drama “Hello, Love, Again” starring Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards, has shattered another box-office record, hitting P566 million in Philippine box office as of November 18.
The film also made history as its opening weekend became the highest-grossing for a Filipino film in North America with $2.4 million (almost P141 million). According to a report by Deadline, the film opened at the No. 8 spot of the top-grossing films of the weekend, opening in nearly 250 cinemas across North America.
Deadline reported that the film "saw strong turnout and engagement across key markets driven by a robust campaign designed to engage core Filipino-American audiences while broadening its appeal to Asian-American, Hispanic, and general moviegoers."
"The campaign leveraged the strong fan base of Bernardo and Richards, along with strategic partnerships with platforms like ABS-CBN’s TFC and Cinema One, creating a cohesive push across digital and social media," it added.
The Kathryn Bernardo-Alden Richards sequel also made $320K in Australia & $98K in New Zealand. In the Philippines, "Hello, Love, Again" also set a record for the widest domestic release and earned P245 million in its first three days.
The movie is now playing in 1100 cinemas worldwide including Australia, New Zealand, the US, Canada, Guam, Saipan and London. By the end of the month, the movie will also be shown in Singapore, Malaysia, the Middle East, Cambodia, and Hong Kong.
Part of the proceeds of the film will go towards helping the victims of Typhoon Pepito. Meanwhile, Kathryn and Alden will attend the Asian World Film Festival, wherein “Hello, Love, Again” will serve as the closing film.
