What to do Before, During, and After a Job Interview?

Things to remember before going and facing the interviewer; some tips to have a good impression during the interview; and after the interview what are the next step?

Before

• Prepare and wear proper or formal clothes
• Bring a ballpen, resume, and other necessary documents
• Have enough sleep, and eat before going to the interview
• Review the company’s profile/background
• Research on what are the possible questions to be ask
• Be on the place ahead of the time scheduled
• Greet the interviewer

During

• Maintain eye contact to the interviewer
• Do a proper posture while being interviewed
• Refrain from doing unnecessary movements
• Be attentive and listen carefully 
• Answer all the questions asked
• Smile and be confident when speaking

After

• Don’t forget to ask questions you have in mind
• Shake the interviewer’s hand and say thank you
• Analyze the questions and answers stated
• If there’s still no update on your application, do a follow-up

If you’ve been hired the day you’ve been interviewed, ask the job details (work schedule, work place, work responsibilities, and other questions you wanted to know).

Finding a job takes patience and courage, not all interview will be as what you expect. Sometimes, your first job interview will be the first job you’ll have. But there will be times, that job interview wasn’t meant for you so you have to keep moving and trying. Learn from your previous job interviews, apply and improve it for further interviews.
