Dietary Practices: Is it Good or Bad?

Out of all the dietary practices, advice, tips, or plans you see online, which one would you believe to be really effective and is still good for your health?
There are many ways for people to go on a diet, some do fasting, some lessen their carbs, some do it with dietary meals combined with exercise. But out of this ways, many doctors also said that some of dietary practice is not really good and bad for the health. You may think that what you're doing is effective but it might be negatively effecting your body.
As an explorer, I've tried different things to lessen my weight and one of that is going on a diet. I started on lessening what I eat and also the carbs I take, it is effective at start but there would be a time that you can't resist food so it is really hard. I've also tried fasting but I can't survive a day doing that again. Also tried eating only vegetable salads, healthy foods, less oily and fatty foods, but then all ends on breaking the diet.
Why? Because gaining weight is easy, and loosing it is hard especially if you're a person who really loves food. Food makes people happy, relieve stress, and gives relaxation, so it's hard for someone to just let it go or to contain your wants on eating.
But what I've learned going on a diet? It is hard, it needs responsibility and discipline on oneself. Temptation is there but if you're really eager to be fit, you need to hold back and think again why are you doing it. Don't just easily believe on what you see and read online, because every individual has their own body capacity, theirs is different from yours. If you think what you're doing is not good and you're feeling something wrong with your body, it is best to seek for a professional or a doctor.
Consultation to a professional physician or dietitian would be the best to know what is the right thing you should do with your body. Don't risk your body on what you just read elsewhere especially if it concerns your health.
Have you also tried going on a diet? What did you do?
